Local News Jan 3, 2023 A recent visit to Altoona by one of the owners of the Gable's building has transformed his plans to capitalize on a real estate investment into something more than mere business. Yadwinder Dod's encounters with Altoonans on that visit have shown him the importance the place holds in the local imagination, so that bringing the largely empty structure back to its full potential isn't only important to him for earning money, but also for helping restore a key asset of the old downtown that people here remember, said Dod — a Fresno, California-area resident who goes by 'Ricky.
