By John Hartsock jhartsock@altoonamirror.com Amateur boxer Giovanni Palmieri has earned a spot in the Pennsylvania Golden Gloves sub-novice middleweight division's 156-pound Western Pennsylvania Regional Final this Saturday at the Pro Sports Complex in Monroeville. But Palmieri, 24, a 2021 Saint Francis University graduate who hails from suburban Pittsburgh, is the first to admit that he didn't start out his boxing career as a natural when he began training under the direction of Tom Wilt for the Altoona Boxing Club at the Gorilla House gymnasium three years ago.
